I never expected My Chemical Romance to come out with lyrics with such depth and meaning. They have left me inspired. The only suggestion to them would be to change their name and continue doing what they did on The Black Parade [2006]
Karachi, the city where I am these days was turned into war zone by gun men from opposing political parties on Saturday. To be honest, I dont care who rules what in this country, I dont care about the politics. I am only concerned about the apparent worthless-ness of human life in this country. On Saturday, I saw pictures of dead bodies lying un-attended on of the usually busy roads of the city. In contrast when i switched over to the british news channel Sky, they were broadcasting the search for the 4-year old Madeleine McCann, who was abducted a week or two before. Now don't get me wrong I'm not implying that the british media should have been broadcasting the massacre in Karachi, No. Im just highlighting the difference , the difference between the worth of human life in the two countries. On one hand there this is 4 year who is not even dead and on the other hand dead bodies are lying on a main road. The point being that British know the worth human life, they know that if lost it won't ever come back. People compare countries like Britain and Pakistan by their GDP and the living standards but for me its the recognition of the importance of human life. God Bless! When the crazy gunmen were roaming the streets of Karachi , shooting anyone in sight, there was no sign of any law enforcing agency, they let the mice have their 'fun'. As a result the most widely circulated text message the day after read something like this :
" Play real 'COUNTER STRIKE' for the 1st time in Pakistan! Free for all, just load your weapons, get on the streets of karachi & connect the server "90" , no police, rangers to arrest you! All cheats enabled!"
Yes yes Jack and Meg are back with a new album, Icky Thump. I really admire The White Stripes especially Jack White. I think he's one of the best out there these days.
Here's something I found on Youtube. A classic performance by the White Stripes at the Grammy's ( I dont know which year)
Its the hot topic these days everbody is talking and writing about so why should I stay behind. But I am looking at this from a different perspective, lately I've been watching the news and reading articles and I have found that there is another debate raging on inside the whole global warming issue. The debate is whether 'developing' countries , as they call them , should also reduce emissions and join in to stop the whole global warming thing. An Indian scientist was of the view that India has just started to grow and they are predicted to take over the reigns from the United States in 20 years or so as the next super power, so why should they halt their growth when its the already 'developed' countries who have caused and are causing global warming. This is a very valid debate , and I have to side with the Indian scientist. To make matters worse the Kyoto pact is non-binding to the United States, which is the highest contributer to emissions. So as I see it, it is unfair on countries like India and China who have reached a stage where they are known to be the future super powers. I can't debate on this because Im not really familiar with the scientific point of view of this whole issue, which I think is the most important
I'll end this post with an advertisement which is both funny and effective ( I hope). It features the Blue Man Group which I'm pretty sure will feature on my blog pretty soon again. cheerio
